Lindsay's Story

At the age of 22, Lindsay tested positive for the "breast cancer gene," a genetic mutation that put her at up to an 87% lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. No stranger to breast and ovarian cancer, her mother fought both diseases when Lindsay was only 12 and she lost both her grandmother and great-grandmother to breast cancer before she was born. In an effort to be proactive about her own health, Lindsay made the tough decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

It was during her experience that Lindsay realized the lack of resources for women in her specific situation – young women at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. To inspire young women to be proactive about their health, and to share her experience and resources with other young women across the country, Lindsay founded Bright Pink® in 2007.
